1. When did the Prophet ﷺ seek vengeance?
- Only when Allah’s sacred limits were transgressed. (correct answer)
- Whenever someone wronged him personally.
- Whenever an enemy insulted him.
- Never, even when Allah’s sacred limits were violated.
Why
The Prophet ﷺ did not seek revenge for his own personal sake. He chose the easier option when given a choice, so long as it was not sinful. If the matter involved sin or transgression of Allah’s sacred limits, he would keep far away from it and respond for the sake of Allah. His anger and firmness were therefore not personal vengeance, but protection of religious commitment and obedience to Allah.
