Islam Guidance is a free website that lets you search the Quran and Hadith using natural language. Describe what you're going through, whether it's a feeling, a question, or a life situation, and we'll surface the most relevant verses and narrations. No account needed, no tracking.

We use The Clear Quran translation by Dr. Mustafa Khattab, along with Tafsir Ibn Kathir for deeper understanding. Qur'an text and translations come from open-source projects including the Quran API and Tanzil Project. Audio recitations are provided by EveryAyah.com. For Hadith, we include collections from Sahih al-Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, and four other authentic books via the open-source Hadith API. Du'a and dhikr content is sourced from the Hisnul Muslim dataset.

No. Islam Guidance and IlmPath are educational search and reflection tools. They help you find relevant Quran verses and Hadith, but they are not a substitute for consultation with qualified Islamic scholars. For specific religious rulings (fatwa), personal matters, or situations requiring scholarly judgment, please consult a qualified scholar in your community.

Your privacy is sacred. We do not store your search queries, create user profiles, or track your activity in any way. When you search, your question is processed momentarily to find relevant results, then immediately discarded. There's no account required, no cookies tracking you, and no personal data collected. Your spiritual journey is between you and Allah ﷻ, and we respect that completely.

IlmPath is the free mobile companion to Islam Guidance. It includes everything on the website, plus prayer times, Qibla compass, offline Quran with audio, six Hadith collections, dhikr counter, quizzes, and daily reminders. No accounts, no ads, no tracking. Works offline. Available on iOS and Android (coming soon).

No. IlmPath has no accounts, no registration, no login. You can use every feature immediately after installing. All your data stays on your device.

Yes. All core features work offline, including Quran reading, Hadith browsing, prayer times (once your location is saved), Qibla compass, dhikr counter, and dua collection. Only Smart Search and daily guidance require an internet connection.

Smart Search lets you describe your situation in your own words (e.g., "I'm feeling anxious about my exams" or "guidance on being patient with parents") and returns the most relevant Quran verses and Hadith. It requires an internet connection. All other searches (Quran search, Hadith search, Dua search) work entirely offline.

IlmPath calculates prayer times locally on your device using your saved location and established astronomical algorithms. You can choose from multiple calculation methods (ISNA, MWL, Egyptian, Umm al-Qura, etc.) to match your local mosque. Prayer times are calculated entirely on-device, and your location is never sent to our servers.

IlmPath includes six authentic collections with both Arabic text and English translation:

IlmPath includes the full Quran with Arabic text, The Clear Quran English translation, and Tafsir Ibn Kathir (abridged). Audio recitation is available from multiple reciters and can be downloaded for offline listening.

No. IlmPath uses no analytics, no tracking, no ad networks, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. Your location stays on your device (encrypted). The only data ever transmitted is your timezone (to generate daily guidance, including the Islamic date) and search text (for Smart Search), and neither is logged or stored. All data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling IlmPath permanently deletes everything: preferences, favorites, downloads, and history. You can also selectively delete downloaded audio, clear favorites, or reset settings within the app. Since there are no user accounts, there is no server-side data to delete. Yes. Your location coordinates are stored exclusively on your device using platform-specific encrypted storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). They are never transmitted to our servers or any third party. Location is used solely for calculating prayer times and Qibla direction locally on your device.

Prayer times are calculated algorithmically and may differ slightly from your local mosque. Try changing the calculation method in the app settings. Different methods are used in different regions (e.g., ISNA for North America, MWL for Europe, Egyptian for Africa, Umm al-Qura for Saudi Arabia). If they still don't match, your mosque may use manual adjustments. We recommend following your local mosque's times.
