Why

When Allah commanded him to prostrate to Adam عليه السلام, he claimed superiority because he was created from fire and Adam was created from clay. His belief in Allah’s existence was cancelled out by arrogant refusal to obey Allah’s command. The Qur’an states that Iblees and those who follow him will be gathered into Hell.
